Is
Hypnosis Dangerous?
HYPNOSIS
IS NOT DANGEROUS.
You cannot be made to do anything that is against your moral values.
Stage hypnotists (who are performing a show and may be using
"actors/cohorts" in the audience to create a dramatic show) often
give the public a false and frightening impression of hypnosis. They
may or may not be actually hypnotizing anyone.
Even if
they are really are hypnotizing people on stage, they most they can do is get someone to do something embarrassing.
You can never get a person to do anything against their values using
hypnosis. You can't get someone to murder
if they aren't murderous. You can't get someone to have sex with you if
they wouldn't ordinarily have sex with you in other circumstances.
Some forms
of audio or visual stimuli could possibly trigger a seizure if you are epileptic.
Just to be extra safe, always check with your physician before trying hypnosis,
self hypnosis, hypnotherapy or using anything that can induce an altered state.
And if
you go to a hypnotist, make sure
they are a licensed professional, with
real and valid credentials.
Are
Hypnosis Tapes Dangerous?
The
only issue is never use them in a situation in which it isn't safe to become
deeply relaxed, or even fall asleep. Never use them in a car for instance,
or even let a driver hear it.
If
you have plans, you may want to set an
alarm clock just in case you fall asleep.
