Brain
chemistry imbalances or damage can be treated in several ways. One is high
tech devices that are readily available through MDs, chiropractors,
and physical therapists, or they can be owned and used at home (some
require prescription). Another is doing a blood workup, then using safe, cutting
edge, custom prescribed special vitamin and amino acid
supplements to deal with the neuro-receptor blockage and other damage
caused by drugs (including alcohol) and depression (including that
created by being an abuse victim). They also ease withdrawals and cravings. But
if that's too costly, there are free alternatives.
Brain cell destruction is only part of the problem, as is destroying the brain's reasoning
and violence control centers. Sure, some things create strong physical
dependency. But the biggest problem facing us these days are other types of
drugs that create an even greater dependency than physical addiction. Most
users and experts miss the point that a unique, radically deep and profound euphoria, is
instantly created by smoking crack, ice or injecting meth or cocaine. It's so powerful that after one try, everything else in life pales
to the "feeling" - which is akin to paradise, heaven or
"being touched by God" like the Bible depicts happened to
Moses after the burning bush. The drive to maintain or return to that
euphoric feeling,
makes everything else in life - sex, family, work, etc., irrelevant. In
the story of Moses, he wasn't experiencing bliss from drugs, and he actually
DID have a greater duty than to his sheep herding job or family. Even just
one "toke" of those drugs make the high from a suitcase full of
marijuana a joke in comparison.
Again,
people get hooked on smoking meth or crack cocaine just one time - not
because they're instantly physically addicted, but because they've never
experienced such a great feeling. That's also why most people go back to
using even after jail (or during) or rehab - they don't just enjoy it or get
a temporary "escape" from the stresses of life, the tremendous
euphoric emotions get them psychologically and mentally enslaved for life if
they don't find something to replace it. Thus what's needed is replacing
their high without drugs. How?
The
"bliss" needs to be replaced by healthy, safe methods of inducing
it - like biofeedback, meditation, meditation-like prayer, and especially
hypnosis. Hypnosis is time-proven over centuries and can reproduce
brainwaves and a blissful euphoria, but not JUST when you're doing it. An
abuse victim can be given what are called "trigger words", so that
any time or place they get a craving, they can think the words, and
get the euphoric feeling without the drug or its destructive
side-effects. This also applies to adult or child abuse victims, not
just addicts or alcoholics.
